Sandblasting
It's a process of surface cleaning with a stream of compressed air or eventually liquid.
The abrasive material contained in it is selected in terms of granulation appropriately to the type of processed material.
The most often, purified sand is used as an abrasive material. Processing gives an effect comparable to grinding, the only difference is that it leaves a slightly rough texture.
Sandblasting is used to clean the material from rust or previously applied coatings. It allows to quickly and safely remove scratches and dirt from hard-to-reach places:
- hollows
- corners
- grooves.
This process allows to prepare the surface for powder coating.
What does the sandblasting process consist in?
This process consists in directing a stream of compressed air and abrasive material with appropriate granulation onto the cleaned surface.
Advantages of surface preparation by sandblasting: Thanks to this solution, the surface is properly cleaned and it is properly prepared for further processing. The sandblasting process allows to clean hard-to-reach places and remove most of the previously applied coatings.
Sandblasting, as a preliminary method, creates roughness on the surface of the material, which in turn reflects into the adhesion of the paint to the painted surface.
A skillful sandblasting combined with professional powder coating allows to completely protect the processed element and restore the shine of old elements.
