RAL color pattern
At Metalmix we use polyester powder paints accordingly to RAL pattern (Reichs-Ausschuβ für Lieferbedingungen) with Qualicoat certificate and to NCS pattern (Natural Color System).
RAL is the international system of colour matching created especially for:
- powder paints,
- aerosol paint for automotive industry,
- self-adhesive PVC foils.
RAL is also widely used in industry and architecture.
How to read colour names from RAL pallet?
You can recognize RAL Classic pallet thanks to symbol: RAL + four digits (f.ex. RAL 3014). Two first digits are a code of the shades of the main hue (f.ex. blue hues, brown hues ...), two others digits concern the shade, what we present here below.
RAL CLASSIC pattern:
At Metalmix powder paints are applied on the surface of parts with GEMA applicator and hardened (in the oven) in temperatures from 140 up to 200°C. Our customers can adapt our large pallet of colours accordingly to their individual needs.
Types of coatings available at Metalmix:
- smooth: ideal for homogeneous aspect - from shiny to deeply mat
- structural: available in matte version, satin or shiny from fine to thick structure.
NCS is a system of colours identification based on four elementary colours:
- red (R)
- yellow (Y)
- blue (B)
- and green (G).
These colours are a base for all colour hues and nuances in NCS system which counts actually more than 2000! In NCS system each colour is described with 2 marks. First of them describes how much a colour is close to one of the pure colours (R, Y, B or G), second one describes how much a colour is close to gray hue.

Major advantages of NCS system
One of the most important advantages of NCS system is its simplicity and precision in defining colours. Thanks to this designers and artists are able to chose very precisely hues and their shadows which are coherent and harmonious. The important is that NCS system is very flexible and allows easily modify the colours. Thanks to this characteristic there is a possibility of creating almost each demanded colour hue.
Application of NCS pattern
Natural Colour System has a very large application. NCS pattern is used to create the colours of finishing materials like paint or plaster, dying of textiles or products made of plastics. That's why NCS is largely used by:
